Anti- reflection coatings also known as reflection free lenses or anti glare lenses
An anti-reflective or anti-reflection (AR) coating is a type of optical coating applied to the surface of lenses to reduce reflections.
How do they work?
As white light strikes the lens the anti-reflection coating absorbs all wavelengths of light except for one. Generally you will see a dull green hue which is less noticeable to the eye than white light.
We offer 2 types of anti- reflection coating:
Hi-vision long life is Hoya’s hardest most durable anti –reflection coating. 50% more scratch resistant than others.
HI vision long life – most durable anti reflective coating on the market. (NSL Analytical ESWT 2015)
This coating comes with a 3 years manufacturer warranty against defects
Blue Light Control
For indoors, in low light or at night, protective ophthalmic lenses with a special coating designed to reflect and cut high energy blue light penetration are available. This type of lens coating is referred to as a blue light filter coating. Thanks to blue light filter coatings, the harmful portion of blue light is cut while allowing the good portion of blue light to pass through. You can actually see the protection at work as blue light is being reflected off the lens. Due to the reduced amount of blue light entering the eyes, contrasts are improved by reducing screen brightness, flickering and eye fatigue to provide a strain-free visual experience while providing the most complete protection.
Blue Light Control has all the great benefits associated Hi-vision long life however it also neutralises the blue light emitted by digital screens preventing eye fatigue, eye strain & sleeplessness. Additional benefits include increased reduction of glare & enhanced contrast perception.
